Old Aerial Photos
|
I was studying in higher secondary school and was very interested in knowing the history of the people and places as it was all like stories of real people. To make things interesting, the country government organized a train showing various pictures of great people and historic places and most of them were Old Aerial Photos and this aroused interest in the class and we conveyed the information to visit the train to the history teacher. The history teacher got permission from the principal and took us for a day out from the school to look at the Old Aerial Photos that were put up on the train. We visited the train in the railway station and were amused to see the Old Aerial Photos that were taken during those ages and the most Old Aerial Photos was from the year 1912 before the First World War and there were also Old Aerial Photos that were taken during the world war too. The entire class was looking amazed to see the photos and the history. The organizers had arranged the train very well and below each photo, the relevant history was written and it was easy for us to understand the importance of the photo. Most of the Old Aerial Photos were taken from the air planes and the clarity was not that great. Among all the photo's the most impressive Old Aerial Photos was that of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the disaster and the loss of lives was clearly evident from the picture. There were also some famous paintings inside the train and the paintings of the world wonders were worth watching. We spent the entire afternoon inside the train and the time spent was useful. Our history teacher had earlier told that each student must give a report on a history based photo in the train and each report must be different from the other and every student must finalize the topic in the train and give the topic to the class leader and if any clashes occur, then the history topic can be changed. Hence we took notes of all the Old Aerial Photos and especially the ones that we have selected as a topic. The next day in the class, each student presented the most inspired history incident that was displayed in the train in front of the class and this was a bit interesting.
